Bible Reading: Luke 1:5-24, 57-66

ZachariahZachariah was a priest in God?s temple in Jerusalem. Zachariah was chosen to burn incense in the temple. While Zachariah was doing this, an angel from God appeared to him.

The angel told Zachariah that he and his wife, Elizabeth, would have a baby boy. The angel said that this baby would grow up and be a great man for God. Zachariah could not believe this! He asked the angel, ?How can I know that what you say is true?? (verse 18a).Because Zachariah doubted what the angel said, he was not able to speak until his son was born.

Zachariah and his wife were not able to have children. Then they had a son, John. This was something done by God?s power. Every day God does things for us, too. But sometimes we do not realize that they are from God. We might say, ?Those good things happened to me because I was lucky.?

Christians are not lucky ? they are blessed by God! God does wonderful things for His children every day. God blessed Zachariah, and He will bless you, too. — ECW

?John will be a great man for the Lord (God)...he will be filled with the Holy Spirit.? Luke 1:15
